Potential…is virtually infinite. It grows as you grow. It’s cultivated and nurtured by belief and action. Both must be present, which is why it remains the greatest untapped human resource there is in this world. When I choose to invest my energy in a certain individual, it’s because I see a spark within them that has the ability to ignite their own infinite potential. My purpose is to ensure that yours does not go untapped. Do you understand?”
—Excerpt from Plateau to Pinnacle: 9 Secrets of a Million Dollar Financial Advisor
Erin sat in the seat and experienced the daily challenges of a financial advisor firsthand. She spent 17 years as a financial advisor and three years as a producing branch manager.
Originally from New Orleans, Erin began her career while still in college working part time for a small, local firm. In 1985, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of New Orleans.
She was registered in August of 1987, two months before the stock market crashed. Her very first month in production at the age of 28, she was diagnosed with cancer. Determined to succeed, she spent her first three years in production balancing the challenges of being a rookie with bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy and radiation.
After beating cancer and excelling in her rookie years, she was recruited by Dean Witter. Ready for a change of scenery, she transferred to the Morgan Stanley branch in Billings, Montana and would later help open the Missoula, Montana branch. She spent 11 years at Morgan Stanley, three of those years as a producing branch manager. During her management years, she recruited four established FAs from various firms including Smith Barney, Wachovia and UBS. She also hired and trained several trainees.
Erin attended the Institute for Professional Empowerment Coaching in Chicago and is a Certified Empowerment Coach. She left Morgan Stanley at the end of 2004 to start her FA Coaching firm, Executive Transformations. She now coaches financial advisors from all over the country and from all different firms. In addition to coaching, she is also a regular Horsesmouth contributor.
In 2005, Erin traveled to Guatemala to adopt her beautiful baby boy who is the love of her life. In 2009, they traded the snow and mountains of Montana for the sun and beach of Florida. She currently lives in Gulf Breeze, Florida with her 11 year old son, Caleb and dogs, Nick and Mandy. Besides coaching, Erin loves the beach, the gym, traveling and showing Caleb the world. She is an avid writer and is currently working on her second industry related book, a follow-up business parable to her book, Plateau to Pinnacle: 9 Secrets of a Million Dollar Financial Advisor.
